Cularus is a lonely and melancholy soul with the specter of being the Maw looming over him. After 400 years of wandering, he's developed into an insecure and anxious personality, always afraid of being found, always afraid of being used. Yet he also longs deeply, desperately, to connect with the people around him, because he relies on personal connections for the strength to keep fighting off the Maw's influence. After being raised specifically to crave affection and praise by the Queen, Cularus still...feels that craving, and despite knowing that it's an unhealthy way to be he feels helpless to change, so he's never quite figured out how to exist without needing and wanting other people. As such, while Cularus is a deeply loyal and devoted person, the flip side is that he's willing to endure almost any kind of suffering in the name of that loyalty, even if he's aware that said loyalty is misplaced.
As the end of the past paragraph implies, Cularus has an extremely terrible sense of self-worth and self-esteem. He has never managed to shake off the sense that he is eternally inadequate, nor the instinct that if he just tries harder and gives more that he can overcome that inadequacy, even temporarily. The terrible things that have resulted from his mere existence and which he feels culpable for -- the destruction of the capital city, the imminent end of the world, the Prince's horrible fate -- have only exacerbated this. He's also pretty bad at thinking in the long-term. Cularus is used to being hunted and also to being able to recover from nearly everything (true for physical wounds, and for mental...well, he believes it to be true), and that combo, plus the exhaustion of constantly looking over his shoulder, means that Cularus has a difficult time thinking beyond his immediate life and safety despite being immortal with many years left to live.
The Maw also has a significant influence on Cularus in a bunch of ways. First, the Maw makes Cularus hungry in a omnidirectional way: he constantly aches for food, drink, sex, valuables, everything more, more, more. Second, the Maw functions as a devil on Cularus' shoulder, constant whispering at him and urging him to give in to the Maw and all his hungers, in order to speed up the Maw's takeover of his soul. Cularus responds to both these things by being extremely self-controlled, always watching how and what he acquires, and being paranoid about how his consumption of things is viewed by others. He's incredibly stubborn and strong-willed, though he doesn't really realize this, with a strong sense of personal principle to guide him -- after all, most of his determination to not give in to the Maw is driven by his conviction that the world deserves to not be destroyed. All of that, plus carefully ignored bitterness and hurt piled up over his life, adds up to grit that Cularus is largely unconscious of and/or tells himself he doesn't have. Maybe if he could just settle down and work through some of his issues in safety -- but settling down is a luxury he hasn't had for a long time.
objective: Tentacle sex. Cularus can manifest tentacles for sexy and other times, but getting to that point is difficult. He doesn't like manifesting the tentacles because he's afraid of being viewed or reviled as a monster, something that's extra perilous because he only draws on Maw powers deliberately when with someone he trusts. However, tentacle sex is also an act he enjoys very much. He likes being able to take care of his partner(s) with all those extra limbs, he likes watching his partner(s) being taken care of by all those extra limbs, and it's freeing (if terrifying) to let himself draw on all those fancy Maw powers a little. The silver/feels boost provides some extra incentive for him to fulfill this objective, while his reservations about it mean it'll be something that requires CR to be fulfilled. Altogether, it provides some interesting potential interactions.

- Princess adopts a baby who is possessed by/the extension of an eldritch void-thing known as the Maw, raising the apocalypse baby as her totally loyal ward/son in order to one day control the world-ending eldritch void power.
- Apocalypse baby, aka Cularus, refuses to awaken Maw powers in an effort to be a good child, which eventually annoys the Queen into ordering her son, the Prince, to seduce and betray the apocalypse baby in order to force an awakening through extreme emotional distress.
- Finding out about the deception, Cularus confronts the Prince and finds out his life is a lie. This causes extreme emotional distress that does indeed awaken the desired eldritch powers! In the process the capital city is obliterated, including the Queen, Prince, and entire main branch of royal family.
- Oops.
- Cularus runs away from the smoking crater that used to be the capital city and becomes an immortal wanderer, evading capture by the remnants of the royal family. Their Cularus-capturing forces are led by the forcibly reincarnated Prince, an act which places the Prince's mind through great trauma and under great strain.
- Over the next 400 years Cularus: passes into legend as the evil traitorous Cuckoo; is hunted by the increasingly insane Prince, who passes into legend as the tragic, noble Peregrine; and desperately tries to keep the Maw from completely devouring his soul and destroying the world.
